2 Sleeps!!!

Only two sleeps until Ryan returns home! I am so excited to see him, since he has been in Manitoba for almost a month. It has been hard being apart from him, especially since I am left in Edmonton all alone. I can also admit that I am a bit jealous of his long holiday, as I have been here working while he relaxes with my family in Manitoba. I want a holiday!!
Once Ryan returns though, things are going to start getting busy. There are 3 events that I would like to go once he returns. They are:

1. Body Worlds Exhibit: This exhibit will be taking place at the Telus World of Science. It is a display of hundreds of human bodies and organs that have been preserved through a process of plastination (basically through chemicals, they have been able to turn actual human bodies into plastic). Although I am not quite sure what to expect with this exhibit, I have heard many good things. There are supposedly real human lungs that show the results of smoking. There is also a human stomach in which all of the blood vessels have been dyed, in order to visualize just how many blood vessels the stomach actually has. I have also heard that the bodies are preserved in their entire anatomical form (meaning that there are private parts). If nothing else it will be educational and entertaining to see Ryan's reaction.

2. Capital Ex: Capital Ex is pretty much the same as the Red River Ex in Winnipeg. It is a huge exhibition with entertainment, rides and lots of good food! Ryan and I will be going because we have free tickets. I would like to go on some rides, as we didn't go on any last year (because it was about 35 degrees out and the line ups for rides were in the sun), but we mostly go just to wander around as there is alot to see such as a museum of live butterflies, a flea market, a casino and several different shows.

3. A Taste of Edmonton: I have to say that this is my absolute favorite event of the whole year in Edmonton. It is actually the only glimmer of hope that I had in knowing that I would be returning to Edmonton for the summer. A Taste of Edmonton is an event in which several Edmonton restaurants gather together downtown and bring 2-3 of their feature dishes to be tasted. Tickets can be bought for $1.00 each, and each food item costs between 1 and 5 tickets. Ryan and I went last year, and although our timing was horrible (we went at lunch, which was a HUGE mistake), we had a blast.

Besides these three major things that I would like to do when Ryan returns, our friend Norrris from Whitehorse will be making a quick overnight trip to Edmonton for a Dr. appointment and staying with us on the July 11-12. I also have a secret date planned for Ryan and I that I cannot disclose on here, as he may read it and it would no longer be a secret. I am very excited about it though and will blog about it after it happens.

With only three weeks until we return to Whitehorse, I am a bit panicked as I will have to fit a telephone interview in somewhere, along with packing up all of our belongings over next 3 weeks for the big move. I will definitely have alot to blog about, lets just hope that I have the time!
